Antisocial Behaviour Jobs
Antisocial behaviour has increasingly focused in the national news over the last couple years as evidenced by the government's “respect agenda”. This is therefore an exciting area to become involved in there are good development opportunities for those who decide to work in antisocial behaviour jobs.
You will be tasked with liaising with a number of external agencies such as the police and social services and must therefore have excellent communication skills. This is anything but an office job – you will be a visible presence on the estates and will be expected to participate in estate inspections and visit complainants and perpetrators in their homes, interviewing them and gathering evidence.
Tackling antisocial behaviour
You will need to be a strong character, be able to work well under pressure and who does not flinch in the face of conflict. Given the nature of jobs in antisocial behaviour and community safety, you will need to be a visible presence out on the estates and must therefore be fit and healthy and not afraid to spend most of your time on your own in potentially difficult situations.
There are no standard qualification requirements but applicants would be expected to be educated to at least A-level standard and have good organization/administration skills. Knowledge of housing management systems is an advantage as would previous experience in a housing job. Applicants should have an awareness of the relevant legislation and guidance.
